Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

Another victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match offered a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive match.

The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved no match even for a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

The home side were clinging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
