Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, producing strong winds hitting 109km/h.

Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Impact

Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the current weather patterns.
